To See a World

I took the kids to one of my favorite places today: Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. Laura loves to splash in the fountains of the indoor children’s garden. During her play, she picked up a small seed and examined it closely. This action echoed the following stanza from William Blake’s poem “Augeries of Innocence”:

To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour.
