Late Autumn

The turkeys and pheasants are daily visitors to our yard, coming to eat the fallen crab apples and Bradford pears. Smaller birds wintering over are also frequent visitors. Except for a few oaks, most trees have lost all their leaves. The fallen leaves are still crunchy underfoot, not yet limp from rain and snow. The days continue to shorten. Only one more month until the winter solstice.
