5 Years of January 1st

We celebrate New Year’s Day with my in-laws. New Year’s Day is very important in Korean culture. We eat a special soup, mandoo duk gook, which contains dumplings and sliced rice cakes. The rice cakes are chewy, white discs about 1 inch in diameter. We do a traditional bow, a sebae, to Jung’s parents. We also take family pictures to mark the New Year.
