Outfit of Choice

Laura dresses independently now. Some mornings, the outfit that she puts on needs some edits (“Laura, it is 26 degrees out. You can’t wear a sleeveless dress today.”). Other mornings, like today, she builds an outfit that demonstrates her personal style while still meeting my basic winter dressing rules:

    • Must wear long sleeves
    • Must wear long pants, tights OK if wearing dress or skirt

The Outfit:

    • Purple Plastic Headband – unknown brand, purchased by Laura
    • Pink Cardigan – LL Bean, Christmas present from Hamani
    • Fish T-shirt – Circo, purchased by me
    • Ballerina Skirt – Old Navy, 4th birthday present from Aunt Paula and Uncle Dwight
    • Flower Tights – unknown brand, purchased by me from flea market vendor

At least the colors go together!

Such a girl thing. I will lay you odds now that when Jason gets to age four, he will pick a favorite T shirt and want to wear it 24/7, with a struggle to put it into the wash. John’s girls put some pretty interesting outfits together also. Learning to make choices at a young age is important, and clothes are a good place to start. Putting summer clothes away during the winter months and vice versa eliminates out-of-season choices.

we have similar guidelines in our house. 🙂
